Montgomery Emergency Medical Services receives approximately 20% of its yearly budget from the Township of Montgomery. The remaining 80% must be raised through the annual fund drive and other fund raising events.

The Fund Drive begins each year with an initial mailing to the residents of Montgomery Township. So far this year over 1,500 Montgomery residents have generously responded to MEMS' request for donations. Additional tax-year-end contributions are anticipated before the end of the year.

In addition to donations to the fund drive, members of the community may direct memorial gifts to MEMS. Each year MEMS receives at least several hundred dollars as a result of memorial gifts. Large in memoriam donors have an opportunity to furnish funds to underwrite specific projects, e.g. the purchasing of additional defibrillation equipment.

MEMS is encouraging all members of the community to remember MEMS during holiday gift giving, as well as in the preparation of their wills and the purchasing of insurance, the proceeds of which can be donated to the EMS. Also, because MEMS is recognized by the IRS as a charitable institution, MEMS can accept the gift of appreciated securities.
